November Project Updates

Stockpile 1 - We have surpassed another milestone reaching over 200,000 CY of clay excavated from the Bonnet Carre' Spillway, hauled to an open field in LaPlace, and stockpiled for future levee use. Weather has been favorable, which has accelerated our production rate. This project should be completed late in the summer of 2023.Stockpile 2 - This project is substantially complete. We are compiling the close out reports to the Corps of Engineers are required. Those should be completed by the end of October 2022.

Myrtle Grove Levee and Drainage Canal - This massive Levee and Drainage Canal project is well on its way. So far we have constructed nearly 6 miles of Access Roads containing 73,000 square yards of support fabric, 50,000 cubic yards of sand base, and 20,000 cubic yards of rock surfacing. We have also cleared 50% of the levee/canal area of existing vegetation, excavated 175,000 cubic yards of the canal, installed 1.2 million linear feet of wick drains (Wick drains are drilled deep into the ground to allow subsurface water to evacuate and reduce future settlement), installed 54,000 square yards of reinforcement geotextile, and constructed 90,000 cubic yards of levee embankment. This project is currently ahead of its scheduled completion date mid summer 2025.
